In Night-night House, the second book in the series, this book introduces the concept of poetry and rhyming into the series, which children love, to help increase interest in reading. This book capitalizes on the concept of pairing a picture with a simple word, which is one of the first reading skills many children develop. As the book progresses, the vocabulary and reading challenge increases with more challenging words. The structure of this book is based on rhyme pairs and is focused on common children’s sight word nouns and phonic-based words.
