How It Works
This book series is a one-of-a-kind developmental enrichment series for beginning readers. Each book makes advances in not only the complexity of sight words and easy phonic words as the series progresses, but also across many other components as well. The books move from very predictable and patterned text to increasing complexity in sentence structure. Each book also progresses in complexity of illustrations, from easy pairings to more complex components as the series continues. Furthermore, each book has its own particular literacy feature and developmental skill emphasis.
Each book has its own unique measure of sight words, easy to decode phonic words, common preschool sight words, common Kindergarten sight words, and common first grade sight words, as well as the most common childhood nouns. Did you know that there are 107 words that comprise 50% of all printed text in English? That concept is accounted for in this series, where each book has nearly half of these! This series is the only one to show data for all of these concepts, while most early readers books focus on a single measure only.
Our series stands out as well because of the beautiful and meaningful artwork in each book. Each page was individually and meaningfully created, whereas most early reader type books have plain artwork. Our series has meaningful and logical stories in addition to just building on word complexity, versus competitor products that focus on words to the exclusion of the story.
The quality of our storybooks is second to none. Unlike most other series, which have very small books and cheap printing, our series is designed to be shared with parent and child and to hold up for many reading sessions. Our books incorporate critical points of building print awareness, such as a larger book size, larger print size, using patterned text, using predictable text, having print paired with illustrations, and having shorter total words per page.
